Celebrating Our Raffle Winner: Andrea Pocknee!
We are excited to share the results of our raffle held at the Source Kids Disability Expo in July! The Light Disability Services team had a fantastic time meeting so many wonderful people, and we’re thrilled to introduce our lucky winner, Andrea Pocknee.
This year’s raffle was particularly special, with over 40 entries from a diverse group of participants, including family members, service providers, business owners, and people with disabilities. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together, reflecting the supportive and inclusive community we’re proud to be part of.
Andrea, a 25-year-old with an intellectual disability, was one of those who entered the raffle. Here’s what she shared about her experience:
“Hi, I am Andrea. I am 25 years old and I have an intellectual disability. I went to the disability expo to see all the services that people can provide me, and I had the great pleasure to meet the people at Light Disability Services. They were very friendly, and I was lucky enough to go into the draw to win Gold Class tickets. I can’t wait to take my support worker I have for a fun night out.”
We are so happy that Andrea had a positive experience at the expo and that she connected with our team. Her excitement about winning the raffle and her plans for a fun night out with her support worker truly reflect the joy and connection we aim to foster at Light Disability Services.
The Source Kids Disability Expo is always a highlight on our calendar, and this year was no exception. It was an incredible opportunity to engage with individuals and families, share our services, and learn more about the needs and aspirations of the disability community.
